Saturday 16.06.12 A Birthday Night Out!
Saturday was my birthday - I am now the grand old age of 31!!
It was a lovely but very busy day. The morning was spent with my fabulous family, we popped into town to get some bits for lunch and a very quick look in the shops. The weather was awful so it was just a very quick look. Then after lunch I had my wedding day make up trial. It went very well and I am pleased with the look. But we have decided that it will need to be a tad stronger on the day.
After the make up it was then on to the dressmakers for the dress fittings! I got to put my beautiful dress on again and wow, I still am so much in love with it! The bridesmaids dresses are stunning and I hope that they are going to be as striking on the day as I hope them to be. Miss O had a try on of her dress too and she looked just fabulous!!
The outfit pictures are from my birthday dinner. We went to a local restaurant for dinner and drinks with some friends. It was a lovely night and I am so happy with the outfit. It was so comfortable to wear, it was light and summery, yet it was still a good look on a very wet June night.
My birthday look was:
Trousers - H&M
Junper - H&M
Necklace - Charlotte Russe
Shoes - Christian Louboutin
** I must practise my full on laughing/smiling as I do not want wedding pictures to have me with my eyes all screwed up!!

Casual, casual, casual.......... That is the look, well feel, for today.
I walked 8 miles last night and I could not bear the thought of heels or restrictive clothing for today.
I got this maxi skirt a few weeks ago, it was a real bargain (under £5) but it is a bit more clingy than I would have liked. But I like the colour and the comfort of it. As for the look - I kept it super simple with just black.
I made it back to Weight Watchers this morning and the news was not good!! It was not devastating but I need to get my head back in the game. I have 4 weeks until the wedding and that means that I have 3 weeks to lose a few pounds. It is time for me to say goodbye to wine, nibbles, chocolate and cake and a big hello to my trainers and the running app on my phone!! I will report back in next week!!
Today's look is:
Skirt - eBay
T-shirt - H&M
Sandals - Primark
Necklace - Topshop
A customer walked in on me taking pictures of myself this morning!! That was awkward!!

Tuesday 12.06.12
I love this dress and realised recently that I had not worn it for ages (I sold the shoes that I used to wear with it on eBay in one of my mad clear outs). As much as I love this dress when I see the pictures today I do not like it with bare legs. I think that with it having the black slip underneath it needs black tights to make it pop!
I do also think that it is just a fraction too short for the bare leg look!
Today's look is:
Lace dress - Vila
Cardigan - Primark
Shoes - Nine West

What a quick weekend that was!! It was my hen weekend, so me and 7 friends spent a fabulous day and overnight at a spa hotel. Lots of laughs were had, good food eaten and cocktails drunk. The relaxing massages were fabulous too!!
Back to work today and with being away for the overnight I was not at all organised this morning. I am pretty pleased with this outfit considering it was pulled together in a rushed fashion this morning.
It is just myself and Miss O tonight as N is working late. It will be bath and early beds all round, but I will try and plan my clothes for tomorrow as I have Miss O to get to playgroup for 9.30am in the morning so we will be rushing.
Today's look is:
Jeans - Marshalls
Blouse - Charlotte Russe
Cami - Walmart
Jacket - Primark
Wedges - Payless Shoes

On Friday my friend and I packed out little ones into her car and set off to Glasgow to Braehead shopping centre. My friend had been shopping on line for a dress to wear to her brothers wedding. A style that she liked was out of stock on line but was still available in store.
We arrived at the store, she selected the dress and went to the fitting room. The dress was cheap fabric that already had a static build up and from not so close I could see that it was covered (and I mean covered in self tan). She decided to try it on anyway as we had travelled to see it and she need to put it out of her mind. It was swiftly discounted due to poor fit and we left.
We were heading back to the car when we paused outside of Oasis - it is a store that I do not often shop in as there is not one near us.
We went in and the shop was quiet, we were greeted and help was offered. We had a browse and nothing was jumping out. My little one was then starting to shout from her buggy so, I headed to the back of the store to distract her with the mirrors - only to stumble upon a sale rail.
I had a flick through and spied this gorgeous dress.
Typically they only had a tiny or a huge size - which of course meant that my friend LOVED it. She really loved the half price ticket. She went to the sales assistant and asked if there were any more sizes. Unfortunately there were not. She asked where we were from and then offered to call stores that we could stop in at on the way home to see if they had the size we were looking for. The sales assistant did this and managed to find the dress in the correct size in another store that we were passing on the road home.
Her help was fantastic and my friend now has a fabulous dress to wear to her brothers summer garden party wedding. Best of all it was a steal!
I will most definitely be back in Oasis and 100% will go back to the store in Braehead where the staff were so helpful.

Peplum?!
Peplum dresses are a style that I have never tried to wear. I am unsure of the extra fabric over my hips. Saying this I am drawn to them - I think most of the styles are very pretty.
We took delivery of this one in the shop last week!
I honestly love it. The shape, the deep V in the back and most of all the navy stripes. I have still not tried it on - like I said I am not sure about peplums.
What do you think of them? Do you have one yet?

Wednesday 06.06.
So rough start today what with Miss O deciding 5.10am was the perfect time for us all to be up watching Ben and Holly!! Even with a 2 hour head start on my day I was still rushing out the door with seconds to spare - how does that happen??
Spied my wedges in the bottom of the shoe basket last night when I was looking for something else. I have not worn them for an age and decided that today was the day they were having an outing! They were a flea market find in Orlando in 2005, they were an impulse then but as I have grown up they have suited my style more! I love the shape of them at the back!!
The trousers and top that I have on today I find pretty hard items to wear. The top is kind of fussy and it is really long and the skinny cords I have shoe issues with - I think I NEED a nude ballet flat.
Today's look is:
Skinny Cords - Forever 21
Top - Forever 21
Shoes - Flea Market
Bracelet - Thomas Sabo
Watch - Michael Kors
** Just to add. I have no idea what the heck is going on with my hair. I think I have been twiddling or fluffing just before taking the pics.

One of those days.......
This was very much needed this morning.... for a few reasons!!
- Miss O has had me up since 5.10am - yawn.
- It is day 3 of my working week. No big deal, but organising myself and Miss O for 9am takes its toll.
- It is Wednesday and the weekend still seems so far off.
- It is cold and grey??!! Hello - it is June a little warmth would be good!!

Tuesday 05.06.
White jeans for the first time this year!! The weather has been so nice lately that I have pretty much jumped full on into summer dressing (this is the UK and this may not last).
I have had the jeans and cardigan for forever, but the top was a find when we were in Orlando in March. $4.88 in the Old Navy clearance section. Super score!
Yesterday was sunnier than today, but man was I cold. So today I felt that jeans might help with my temperature issues yet them being white makes them look like summer wear!!
Jeans - Chilli Pepper
Top - Old Navy
Cardigan - Vila
Cami - Walmart
Sandals - River Island
Necklace - Forever 21
A long overdue catch up!!
This post will be picture heavy - sorry in advance.
Waves.
Hello - I have no idea if there is anyone out there reading anymore?? So, it is June and I have not blogged since....... erm February. Oh dear. So, I may not have blogged for, well forever. But I have snapped some pictures. I am not sure when exactly they were taken but here goes.
I am pretty sure that I wore this look to work on a Saturday that we were meeting friends right after I finished. I love this look as it comfortable, yet smart.
The blazer is jersey and is so comfortable - posting this just reminded me that it is in the bottom of the laundry basket and really needs attention.
I think this could be one of the prettiest outfits I have styled in a LONG time. I wore it to work a Saturday in April - there was a big horse race meeting locally and there were lots of dressed up ladies out and about! I got asked twice if I was going to the races!!
The skirt was bought via eBay 3 years ago to wear to my best friends rehearsal dinner at her wedding in the Bahamas (I wore it with a jewel collar white vest top then).
I must wear this again soon!!
Date night!!
N and I get one night off a week (Miss O stays with my parents) we do not often go out - we have a wedding to pay for a in a few weeks!! But from time to time we get dressed up and go out for dinner and drinks.
This full outfit was bought while in Orlando on holiday. The blouse and blazer were during our most recent trip. Shorts were last year in March and the boots were the November 2010!!
So, there you go - I have been trying to make sure and still have blog worthy outfits. Work has been a bit of slog, but having 2 weeks off in March revived my love for the shop and I am now back in the zone.
We are pretty much in the final countdown to the wedding - five weeks this Saturday - eek. I have my "hen do" this weekend. A spa day and overnight stay with 7 of my closest friends!! I can not wait!! I then have my first dress fitting the following week - I am so excited to try my dress on - it is quite simply the most stunning dress I have ever owned!!
If you are there and you have read this - thanks. I do hope to post more often.......but I am aware that I have made promises before and not kept them.
