Spring is........

.... Well in our house it depends who you ask!!

Ask me and I will tell you that Spring is getting 3 loads of laundry (including bedding) dried on the washing lines. This to me is fabulous, I hate to dry washing inside or in the drier. There is nothing nicer than bedding that has been out on the line all day. Also the clothes etc are all so much easier to iron when they have been outside.



However, if you ask 11 month old puppy Bista, she will tell you that Spring is all about sleeping in the sun on the deck! On Saturday night after I got back from work she was sitting in a square of sunshine, on the back steps, with her face up to the sun/heat! So cute that I had to get a quick pic!

Saturday 06.03. and the rest of the weekend!

I LOVE this shade of blue and I have quite a few items in it for sale in the shop at the moment. This dress is so comfortable, and I think that after May I am going to use it as a holiday (poolside) cover up!

I am loving that it is slowly starting to get mild enough to lose the boots and the socks - I have missed my flats with bare feet! I feel a pedicure coming on!

We were out at a 30th birthday party on Saturday night and sadly I did not get a picture of my outfit, but I LOVED IT! I bought a pair of black denim leggings (with studs down the side seams) and wore a lovely cream vest top with a black bib detail. I felt great and very un-maternity!!

Sunday we got up early as it was a gorgeous day. My bf walked the dog along the golf course while I got the bedding all washed (and got my first load of washing hung outside for the first time this year). We then got the food shopping done and came home and had a yummy breakfast of croissants and pan au chocolat!!

After a quick clear up and getting the dishes done my bf washed the car and I washed the outside of the windows. Finally Bista got a long walk along the beach. All in all a lovely Sunday!

Friday 22.01.

Wow - what a long time ago Friday was!? (I am not sure that made very much sense, but OK).

Friday was one of those days that just ran away with me - you know the ones where you look up and it is ten minutes until home time?? I had one of those.

It started off bad when the puppy was up being sick just before 1am. It got a bit worse when she was sick twice more while I was eating breakfast, it got worse still when the vet confirmed that he was going to have to see her. The vet we use is about 15 miles away, I was due to start work and my bf was away with work, so I called my dad who came to the rescue and took her to the vet - where she was kept in all day being checked out!

The day got lots worse when my dad collected her and was given a large bill and then told that they have no idea why she was sick - oh and that it may happen again!! JOY!!

As well as all of this, I took delivery of a few orders for the new season, so I was very busy getting that organised and displayed. But I still did manage to snap a picture of what I was wearing.

Thursday 07.01.

First of all I am going to say sorry for the picture today! It was my plan to remove my scarf and to change into my nice grey leather knee high boots. However, at this very moment it is -6C (21F) outside and the scarf and dog walking boots are staying put!

This outfit is great for days like this as everything is a nice snug fit and no chills get to me. I love that this jumper is very comfy and cosy, yet still looks kind of dressy!

Monday 07.12.

Monday was my day off and the bf and I were heading to Edinburgh, I had an appointment with one of my brands and he had a job to do on route. Usually I do not post on days when I am not a work, but before we left the house I asked him to snap a quick picture of me!

I just had to share my fabulous new cardigan/jacket with you all!!

I vowed last year (when we were in Florida) that I was no longer going to be sucked in by the Abercrombie & Fitch lure! I had, had enough of their samey styles, their hugely inflated prices, their dark stores and their tiny sizing!
Yeah, that was until I saw this baby! I did so well (at first) I tried it on and loved it, but I decided that at the price it was I would just leave it!
However, 2 days later there was a 60 mile round trip so that I could purchase said item! I have to say that I am glad that I did - I was so warm and cosy all day yesterday!

It feels weird posting a picture that was taken at home! Please excuse the washing that is drying beside me!

Friday 09.10.

My plan this morning was to wear this dress but wear a jumper or buttoned cardigan over it and make it look like a skirt and top! However, I could not find my stretchy black belt and it just did not look right without it! So instead you get the winter look of this dress!
I love this dress so much - I get compliments whenever I wear it and people still want me to try and get them one!

I am going home this evening to get as much of my cleaning etc done so that my weekend is free for chilling on the sofa under a duvet with my bf watching 80's movies - we may venture out to a new Deli/coffee shop in town.

Monday 14.09.

No outfit picture from Monday (seriously it was not good - dog walking jeans, trainers and a hoodie).

My bf was away with work from Monday until Saturday this past week so he took yesterday off and we spent the day together. We had used Sunday to get chores etc done so the day was free for fun stuff. I started off by making my first pot of lentil soup of the autumn (yum - lunch today) and a HUGE pot of chilli. We then had a quick lunch and headed off to Culzean Castle with the dog!

It was a beautiful sunny and warm afternoon so we just spent a few hours wandering around the grounds. We had Bista off the lead the entire time as we are trying to train her this way - lets us see how far she is happy to go without us.

We decided that the castle grounds and walled gardens (which are stunning) were not the place to take the puppy that loves to dig. So, we took the longer walk along to the swan pond. Bista was great staying close by but still going off to explore the new smells.

About half way there she started to flag a bit (it was getting very hot) so we slowed it down a bit and got closer to a little stream.

My bf tried to coax her to come down the embankment and into the water for a drink! She could hear it and she could see it, but was just not so sure about making the jump!

Then all of a sudden she leap down into the lovely cool water (it was about an inch deep) where she cooled off and had a big long drink!

We carried on round to the swan pond where my bf and I enjoyed the biggest ice cream cones! YUMMY!! We sat by the pond for a while watching the dog, the swans and the ducks before we headed back to the car and home!

I love days like that!!

Saturday 15.08.

I am seriously lacking in accessories today. And do you know what? It is not even my fault!

Bit of a long story, but here goes. My bf went out with the boys for a few drinks last night, at around 3 am he came in let the dog out and then woke me when he came into the bedroom. Fast forward to this morning at 6.15am when I got up with Bista and let her out (well I coaxed and forced her to go out in the pouring rain). I then fed her and took her upstairs to try and get her to snuggle for just a bit longer.

Anyway, I was up with her until it was time to go for my shower and get ready. At this point I asked my bf to make sure that he looked after her and let her out when she needed. All was well and then I went to get my necklace etc when I noticed a very sheepish Bista and a sleeping bf. That was when I noticed it............. The wet patch on the bed!!!!

So there you go, when I should have been getting my accessories together and packing my bag I was shouting at my bf for not taking the dog out and putting bedding in the laundry!! Not only did I forget to pick my accessories up, but I was really running late!

Wednesday 12.08.

Back to work today after a few (very much needed days off). I had a bit of a stressful weekend so my mum very kindly worked for me yesterday to give me a bit of a longer break. I used the time well and had lots of puppy cuddles!!!
Excuse the strange look on my face!



I have no idea where today has gone - it is 3.30pm already and I have only just got caught up! There is a bit of a downside to the days off!

This Weekend.

I do not often post about what I have done with my weekends, but this weekend was lovely and a rather big occasion in our house! Bista got to go outside walking for the first time!

Saturday evening we did not do much other than eat a yummy dinner, have a nice walk along the beach with ice cream and then lounge on the sofa! It was just fabulous.

Sunday was the big day. As usual we were all up very early, so we had a yummy hot cooked breakfast before getting ready for the outing.
We had decided to head to a local park for a walk, which is lovely but it had been very wet and we ended up with one very mucky puppy!

Bista got on very well. She walked well on the lead and was not at all bothered by the harness. She had great fun licking the puddles and chasing leaves and just walking about smelling and seeing all kinds of new things! It was lovely to see her so excited.

When we got home Bista fell into a nice long sleep so my bf and I headed out into the garden to tidy up a bit and check on the greenhouse.

Friday 24.07.

Yippee, it is Friday!!

Thought I would wear my new skirt to keep up my theme or the week - which appears to be having my legs on display!! I got this on Sunday when I was out with a friend and I have to say that I love it a lot! It is just so bright and fun! I am sorry to wear the same shoes 3 days running, but they have just worked so well with each of the outfits!

I have a quiet weekend ahead (which will be great) but we do have a big occasion on Sunday...... The beautiful Bista can get out to walk around in the big bad world!! We are all very excited about this as the garden is no longer quite enough to wear her out!!

In puppy news, Bista is getting on fantastically well! She has a super strong personality (my bf says he shares the house with 2 divas now! I have no idea what he means??) and likes to do what she wants to do and not much else!! But the sleeping and training is going well, she is allowed out and about in less than 2 weeks so we should notice a big change then!

Tuesday 07.07.

I headed to the library last night after work to return a late book and when I got there they had 2 in stock for me that I had requested a while ago! I paid my fine, checked out the new books and headed home. Having 2 books that I have been waiting for made for a very lazy evening snuggling on the sofa with Bista! Of course today I am now annoyed with myself that I did no exercise what so ever - I did not even play any silly games on the Wii for a bit!

I am still feeling very tired - I am usually a pretty early bedder (between 10.30pm & 11pm) but we are putting the puppy out in the garden for the last time at 11.30pm each night (we take turns) she then gets up at around 6am (I usually get up at 7.15am). On top of this each time that we are in the garden she wants to play and we have to keep getting up to check what she is up to as she refuses to stay in the one area of the house when not in her cage! I have to admit that I did not think that I would be this tired!

Friday 03.07.

Yay it is Friday! Unfortunately the weather has turned on us and it is raining very, very hard! Not good for custom, but great for clearing the air!

Today's outfit inspiration over at Fab Finds is stars so I just had to get on board! I love things with star pattern and not just clothes and accessories - I recently bought some Kath Kidston mugs with a fab star print!

We have nothing much planed for the weekend, just chilling at home with our little puppy!
Speaking of Bista, thank you to all of you that have been asking after her. She is settling in very, very well, she is going to bed at around 11.30pm and sleeping until around 6.30am. She is eating well and the toilet training is coming along. Her personality is getting stronger by the day!! I have the makings of a diva on my hands!!!

Saturday 27.06.

I am sorry for not posting yesterday, the day just ran away with me and my mind was full of puppy stuff!
Well little Bista came home last night and settled in right away (I can see her ruling the roost). We woke her and put her out to the toilet at midnight, she went straight back to bed and slept until 6am this morning! However, I did have a lot of cleaning up to do this morning - but as it was her first night I have let her off! My bf is home puppy sitting today and so far she has been very good and doing something each time she is taken out to the toilet! I will keep you updated!
I had this on all day yesterday (you guys were not missing much). This was around 10.30pm last night on the dining room floor (we were there for quite a while) we were just snuggling!!

It is very, very humid here today and the sky is grey - I think our weather is about to break!! I decided to get another day of short summer dresses before the rain (or whatever) comes! I have had these sandals for about 4 years now and I will be devastated when they can go on no longer!!

In other news.......

We are getting a puppy!!!!!

I am super excited as we get to bring her home on Friday evening! She is a West Highland Terrier and she is just adorable! Her name is Bista and she will be 7 weeks old when we get her!

I did not really want to say too much about her until we knew when she was coming home, but now that we know I thought I would introduce her!!

This was her in my bf's hand @ around 3.5 weeks old!!
