Back to work for me today after a lovely weekend. The weather on Saturday and Sunday was beautiful - perfect for walking along the beach (with only a hoodie - no coat) with the puppy and for drying washing outside!

Yesterday I caught up with a friend, had a snooze on the sofa walked the puppy, did a little housework and then went off to ante-natal classes in the evening. It was a rather a nice day!

Today, I have so many jobs on my to-do list and I have lost the motivation to get them done! It was so lovely again early this morning, but it has gone all dull now and it is affecting my mood! I think I will have an early lunch and give myself a shake.

Today's outfit is:

Shirt - Liz Lange for Target
Leggings - Primark
Necklace - Guess
Shoes - Primark

Today is my mums birthday. We are all out for dinner as soon as I finish up at work and then my bf and I are dropping my parents at the airport as they are off to Orlando for a week. Oh, how I wish it was me!

It has been a beautiful day here today - a perfect Spring day - dry, sunny and mild. It is so nice to see people out and about wandering along the street and looking at all that our little town has to offer. I hope that there are lots more of these to come!

Today's outfit is:

Tunic - Vila @ i am.....
Leggings - Target
Waistcoat - BlendShe @ i am.....
Shoes - Primark

I have no idea what we have planned for the remainder of the weekend, if the weather stays like this I think we may spend some time in the garden - trying to make it look a bit neater after the tough winter. And Bista will (I am sure) get a nice long walk along the beach. I wonder if the ice cream cafe on the promenade has re-opened yet?????????

Have a lovely weekend - whatever you have planned!

Yesterday was quite a long day. I was out and about buying new stock for the shop. Now today I feel tired! I am still suffering with a cold and cough which is not helping.

I went casual today for the fact that I am tired and because my mum and sisters were all out shopping the other day and they bought me this t-shirt! I think it is pretty cute! It was very well received as I had just been saying that I need some tops to get me through the next few weeks.

Today's outfit is:

Things to do 2010 - Update!!

Remember way back when....... and I listed things that I wanted to do this year??
Well, I have something to show you guys.

Making our house a home by introducing colour and personal taste was a huge thing. We have lived in our house for almost years and have done no decorating. Everywhere had been freshly painted cream (boring) just before we moved in. We decided that it was a nice fresh background and it let us get a feel for what we wanted.

We were in B&Q around Christmas time and I decided to take a look at the wallpaper area. I saw a beautiful roll of open paper with a very bold pattern and it stunning bright colours. However, there was no more. I carried on browsing and saw rolls and rolls of it in the clearance area down from £20 per roll to £5 per roll. I showed it to my bf and he loved it as much as me.

I thought it would be perfect for our hallway. It is an odd hallway as it can be dark and it has lots of doors leading off of it. The paper was way too over the top to have everywhere so we thought it would make a fabulous feature on the wall opposite the front door.

We have had the paper for over 2 months and have been waiting on my dad having a free weekend to put it up for us. He did it this weekend and I LOVE IT!!

Sorry I totally forgot to take before pictures!!

Everyone that knows me, knows that I am obsessed with the colour orange! I was so having orange somewhere in the house. I love that it is on a very pink background!

I have a day off tomorrow and I have to say that I am really looking forward to it! I am really starting to feel heavy and tired now! I do not think that waking due to coughing helps!!

So, tomorrow I am off work but still working! I have to buy the last of the Autumn Winter stock for the shop before I take my time off when the baby comes. So I have 2 afternoon appointments to go to, which will be tiring, but they will be fun and a nice lunch is always provided too! It is also nice to know that I will be able to wear the styles that I choose!!

Today's outfit is:

Tunic - River Island
Leggings - Forever 21
Cardigan - River Island
Socks - eBay

I have reached that point where nothing that I put on feels or looks as it should do. I have just over 7 weeks left until my due date and I really do not want to have to go out and buy new tops etc to see me through such a short time!

I am still suffering with a cold and cough, which is not helping the way I feel I look today! Getting a cold and cough while pregnant is rough. I have never thought about how much I would go to decongestants and cough syrups for relief when ill before.....
Unfortunately hot drinks and paracetamol do not really do much! On the up side I am not taking medicine for the sake of taking it!

Tuesday's outfit was:

Cords - Target
T-shirt - BlendShe @ i am.....
Cardigan - American Eagle
Scarf - Tie Rack

Today has not been too kind to me! I have bad hair, I have a red nose from the amount of times that I have blown it and I feel pretty yuck! But, it is Friday and that makes me happy!

Yesterday I was off and I had a midwife appointment in the afternoon - all is well and things are as they should be. The countdown is now on 8 weeks and counting!

Basse Mode

A few fellow Bloggers and Tweeters have recently come up with the fabulous idea of launching a magazine about real women and for real women - this concept has been named Basse Mode.

This is what the ladies have said so far about Basse Mode:

Basse Mode is, or will be, a real life hard copy magazine. One that you can buy in bookshops, or newsagents, one with beautiful images and thick paper.

Basse Mode is a magazine about what real women wear, feel and believe.

Basse Mode is a magazine built for normal everyday women. We know that the feeling of flicking through a glossy magazine can’t be beaten. However, all the magazines feature the same thing – unwearable looks, unaffordable clothes, and an emphasis on being and looking the same as one another. We want to condense all the brilliance that the fashion blogging world has to offer into something that we can put on the coffee table. That we can show off on the coffee table. A beautiful documentation of what real women wear, what real people think, and things that actually affect our lives. Nothing like this has ever been done before, but we think it could be brilliant.

I personally think that this is truly wonderful idea and I really hope that it turns into a real life magazine that I can pick up each month, quarter etc.
I love nothing more than going into my local newsagent and picking up the latest copy of my favorite glossy, taking it home and spending way too long reading it in a bubble bath!

I buy/subscribe to a lot of magazines. I enjoy reading them and I use them to keep up with what is going on, in the fashion world, for work.

I take a lot of inspiration from the features in magazines. That said I do not regularly buy the items that are featured in these magazines - I do not have the budget to buy myself £500 + dresses, shoes and handbags. Instead I prefer to remember that WOW item and look out for something similar on the High Street. Or even better, flick on a page or two to find the "Splurge V's Steal" page! I also do not live in a large city or have access to the items featured in the magazines - I love it when I see a gorgeous item in the store that we have near by!

If, like me, this is something that you would love to see happen - go and check out the Basse Mode blog, spread the word and get involved in getting this on the shelves!

I do not want to bore you all with my moaning on and on - but my sore throat has turned into a full blown cold and I feel awful. This is why I am sporting jeans, t-shirt, poncho and trainers today. Minimum thought and effort for maximum comfort and warmth (although right now I feel like I am in a sauna).

I have no plans for this evening and it is my day off tomorrow so I am just going to get on with the list of jobs that I have for the afternoon. That way I can happily lie along the sofa all day tomorrow! BLISS!!

I woke up this morning with a very sore throat and feeling generally rubbish. My bf has been struggling with a cold for almost 2 weeks and I really thought that I was going to avoid it. It seems that I was wrong!

So today I am sipping hot blackcurrant juice, sucking honey and lemon pastilles, eating as much fresh (cold) fruit as I can stomach and I have popped a vitamin! Go away nasty germs! It is only lunch time and I have been thinking about a bath and an early night for a few hours now!

I got this shirt when we were in Florida in November and have not worn it as it always seemed so big! Well now that I have exploded (I really see a difference in the size of my bump each day now) it is a good fit and a lovely fresh crisp look for Spring!

Leggings - Primark

Saturday 06.03. and the rest of the weekend!

Photobucket

I LOVE this shade of blue and I have quite a few items in it for sale in the shop at the moment. This dress is so comfortable, and I think that after May I am going to use it as a holiday (poolside) cover up!

I am loving that it is slowly starting to get mild enough to lose the boots and the socks - I have missed my flats with bare feet! I feel a pedicure coming on!

Saturday's outfit was:

Dress - BlendShe
Leggings - Target
Cardigan - Hollister
Necklace - Forever 21
Shoes - Primark

We were out at a 30th birthday party on Saturday night and sadly I did not get a picture of my outfit, but I LOVED IT! I bought a pair of black denim leggings (with studs down the side seams) and wore a lovely cream vest top with a black bib detail. I felt great and very un-maternity!!

Sunday we got up early as it was a gorgeous day. My bf walked the dog along the golf course while I got the bedding all washed (and got my first load of washing hung outside for the first time this year). We then got the food shopping done and came home and had a yummy breakfast of croissants and pan au chocolat!!

After a quick clear up and getting the dishes done my bf washed the car and I washed the outside of the windows. Finally Bista got a long walk along the beach. All in all a lovely Sunday!

First of all, I have to say sorry for not posting much last week. I am now only in the shop 4 days so the days are just slipping away and I seem to be losing the time to blog. I think I may have to make a little time at home!

I am so glad that I got this tunic and these boots! I love the brightness of the tunic and the boots with their rubber soles have been a lifesaver this winter - and I adore the fringing!

Friday's outfit was:

Tunic - Target
Cardigan - Forever 21

March?? Already, are you kidding me?? Thankfully since March came along the sun seems to have found its way back to us here! Sunshine makes everything so much nicer, prettier, cheerier and just better!

I had a lovely weekend away, but I have to say that I was very glad to get home yesterday. I had missed little Bista and being out of my own bed was not the best. I am not sleeping well as it is, but a strange bed made things all the worse.

Half way through the week and only a half day left to work for me! We are off to Bute for the weekend with family and I am looking forward to it. No mobile phone reception, no TV, no Internet for a few days. I am taking a stack of magazines and a few books to read by the open fire!

This dress is so comfy for me to wear at the moment, but the tights that I have on today are not. They do not come up high enough (they are not maternity) and then are sitting in just the wrong place.

Today's outfit is:

Jersey wrap dress - Gap
Tights - SkunkFunk
Scarf - Old Navy
Shoes - American Eagle
Necklace - Primark

I had to wait at home this morning as we were having the carpet for the babies room delivered. After a bit of a mix up it is laying rolled up in our hallway waiting on the room getting painted.

Yesterday after work I had an appointment at French Connection to buy Autumn Winter 2010 styles. While I was there I remembered about this lovely cardigan from last year. It has a belt (and looks much better when belted) but belts do not work for me AT ALL at the moment, so I making do. And I do like the look!

I am having some time off at the weekend so I am in work today. I have not slept too well over the weekend and the weather has been great, so we have made the most of it by going long walks with the puppy, and I am rather tired today.

We are currently going through another cold snap (no snow but lots of frost and bright days) so I decided to go with a cosy cowl neck, knit tunic and my Ugg boots for today.

Just to clarify (after my earlier post) I do not see Ugg boots as fashion boots either. I have them as casual comfy boots, for days where I am walking a lot and want warm feet. Or to wear around the house and tuck yoga pants into. I do not think of Ugg boots as fashion boots - I would not wear them to go on a night out with the girls! But at the moment (6 months pregnant) they are just what I need to keep me upright, warm and comfy!

Today's outfit is:

Knit tunic - Topshop
Leggings - Primark
Boots - Ugg

Week 2 of the home manicures and so far all is well. I think my nails are in nice order, they are shaped and polished and so far I have had no breaks. Decided to go with a nice bright red to cheer up the last of the February days - while I wait on my Essie polishes to arrive!

Saturday 20.02.

Photobucket

I did not get around to posting on Saturday as the shop was pretty constant with customers and friends popping in for chats (some bring tea and cakes).

I really do love this tunic, but I think I may have to think about stopping wearing it. As the day goes on my bump stretches it out (which is fine) but it does not just grow in the bump area, it gets very loose in the neck and shoulders. On Saturday I felt like I was constantly adjusting things. However, the pretty sleeves made up for it.

Saturday's outfit was:

Leggings - Primark
Tunic - Vila @ i am.....
Cami - Primark
Necklace - Ann Taylor Loft
Boots - Bakers

A debate - Fashion or Function??

On Friday there was a bit of talk on Twitter about FitFlops releasing a few new styles, one being SuperTrainers and the other SuperBoots.

Now I am a LOVER of FitFlops (the flip flop styles) I wore mine all summer long and have to say that I could walk for miles in them, they are so comfy and I always felt nicely supported. However, I have always said that they are not an attractive style. The wobbleboard technology gives them a thick sole and makes them very chunky.

So, on Friday there was rumours floating around Twitter about these new styles and I then read another blog that made mention of the SuperBoots and how they were going to look more like a "Fashion boot" than a "fitness shoe". I left a comment on this blog as I feel that FitFlop will never fall into the fashion category. They, to me, are not makers of "fashion" styles they make "function" styles.

Now, I have not seen a picture of the new SuperBoot, but I have seen the FitFlop Mukluk boots that were released Autumn Winter 09. They are not a "fashion" boot, they are, in my eyes, a true "function" boot (I have to point out here that I wish I had a pair of these for dog walking, as I imagine they are as comfy as my beloved FitFlops). They are for keeping cosy and comfortable on long walks or daily coimmutes (where you want to make the most of the exercise that you are gettting). The Mukluk style is not one that (again my opinion) would be purchased, to be worn with skinny jeans, to go on a night out with the girls!?

I can not see how FitFlop are going to keep the Wobbleboard technology that they are so proud of and create a "fashion" boot.

What so you think?

Friday 19.02.

Photobucket

It is Friday again - they seem to be coming around really fast at the moment......

I ended up having a bit of a later night than planned last night and I am very sleepy today. I thought that to combat the sleepiness I should wear something fabulous.

Photobucket

These studded waistcoats came into stock a few weeks ago and I LOVE them. I think they are going to work in so many ways and with so many items no matter what the season - I hope to be able to try it with safari shorts and a white t-shirt in the summer.

I think that it works well with the colours in the tunic and it prompted me to wear bashed gold/bronze cuff that I have not worn for such a long time!
I seem to have lost the love for jewellery whilst pregnant. I am sure it will return, although how well it will work with a baby - I am not sure!!

I have had a busy day cleaning and changing the window display, shifting stock around and chatting a serving the customers that have ventured out on this cold but very sunny day. I shall be having an easy, relaxing night and hopefully weekend.

Half day for me today - YAY! I have nothing special planned for this afternoon - just some laundry and bathroom cleaning. But I am heading out to a friend's house for dinner and a catch up later on.

I have had these jeans since November, they are part of the Liz Lange maternity range for Target. Up until last week they were a little too big for them to be comfortable and look good. But now that the baby bump is steadily growing they are great - and they are (at the moment) so much more comfortable than the H&M skinnies.

Today's outfit is:

Jeans - Target
T-shirt - BlendShe @ i am.....
Cardigan - Target
Scarf - eBay
Shoes - American Eagle
